This Privacy Policy describes how Core Layer Development LLC (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with your use of SousSight (“Service”). This Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service, including the Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability contained therein.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information that you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information obtained from third parties. This may include:

  • Account information, such as name, email address, password, and profile details.
  • Contact information, such as email address, phone number, and mailing address.
  • Payment information, if applicable, processed by payment processors and not stored in full by us unless necessary.
  • Device information, such as device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, identifiers, and app version.
  • Usage information, such as feature interactions, session data, logs, preferences, settings, and referral information.
  • Camera, image, video, audio, and voice data that you upload, record, or otherwise submit.
  • Smart glasses or wearable device data, where enabled.
  • Shopping and transaction information, including product views, carts, orders, and related preferences.
  • Location information, if enabled by you or your device settings.
  • Communications, including support requests, feedback, and messages.
  • User content, including recipes, prompts, notes, photos, screenshots, and other materials you submit.
  • Profile preferences, including allergies, dietary preferences, and cooking preferences that you choose to save in your account.
  • Inferences drawn from any of the information above.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information for purposes including to:

  • Provide, maintain, and operate the Service.
  • Process and analyze user content and requests.
  • Generate recommendations, outputs, summaries, and other functionality.
  • Personalize user experience.
  • Improve, test, monitor, and develop the Service.
  • Detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to fraud, abuse, misuse, or security incidents.
  • Communicate with you about service updates, support, and administrative notices.
  • Process payments, subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds where applicable.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies.
  • Train, improve, and evaluate our systems using anonymized, aggregated, or de-identified data where permitted by law.

3. AI Processing and Training Policy

User content may be processed by AI systems, including third-party AI providers acting on our behalf. Unless you expressly opt in or otherwise authorize such use, we do not intentionally use your personal photos, videos, audio recordings, or identifiable private content to train public AI models.

We may use de-identified, aggregated, or anonymized data to improve performance, safety, quality, and reliability of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.

4. Information Sharing

We may share information with:

  • Service providers, contractors, and vendors that help us operate the Service.
  • AI processing providers and infrastructure providers.
  • Payment processors and financial service providers.
  • Retailers, fulfillment services, and third-party integrations at your direction.
  • Legal, regulatory, and law enforcement authorities when required or permitted by law.
  • Parties involved in a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
  • Other parties with your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell personal information. We also do not intentionally share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless disclosed separately and permitted by law.

We maintain Data Processing Agreements with AI and cloud infrastructure providers that process personal information on our behalf, including requirements for security, confidentiality, limitation of use, and breach notification.

5. Third-Party Processors and Subprocessors

Our vendors and service providers act on our instructions under contractual terms. This includes cloud hosting providers, AI infrastructure providers, analytics providers, payment processors, and customer support platforms. We require all processors to maintain appropriate security measures and to process personal information only for the purposes specified in our agreements with them.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and support legitimate business needs.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, legal requirements, and user settings. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to legal, security, backup, archival, or legitimate business needs.

Anonymized, aggregated, or de-identified data may be retained indefinitely and used for lawful business purposes.

7. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no system, network, or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You acknowledge that information transmitted through the internet or stored electronically may be subject to unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or misuse.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

If local law requires a higher age for consent, we may apply that higher age where required.

10. Privacy Request Process

To submit a privacy request, contact us at support@soussight.com or through the privacy settings in your account.

We may request information to verify your identity before processing your request, such as confirming your email address, account details, or other information associated with your account. We will not fulfill requests we cannot reasonably verify.

We will respond to verifiable requests within the timeframe required by applicable law. If we decline your privacy request, we will provide you with a written explanation and instructions on how to appeal our decision. Appeals will be reviewed by a different team member and responded to within the timeframe required by applicable law.

11. Notice to California Residents

If applicable, California residents may have additional rights under California law, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain uses of personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information where required.

We do not knowingly sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law unless separately disclosed. If this changes, we will provide required notices and opt-out mechanisms.

12. Notice to Texas Residents

If applicable, Texas residents may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal data, as well as to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling decisions, subject to applicable law.

13. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, services, and platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, or content of third-party services, and their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

We may use cookies, local storage, SDKs, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Service, remember preferences, and support functionality.

You may be able to control cookies through your browser or device settings, but doing so may affect Service functionality.

15. Universal Opt-Out Mechanisms

We recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal and other universal opt-out mechanisms as valid requests to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising, as required by applicable state law.

If your browser or device transmits an opt-out preference signal, we will process that signal and apply it consistent with applicable law. Where technically feasible, we may display a confirmation that your opt-out preference signal has been honored.

16. Cross-Border Transfers
